Drink ‘n’ Jump Draft Beer Bar

The tavern is located on the first floor of a complex building with a colonnade on the exterior. The design removed the glass curtain wall and replaced it with fully operable folding windows. After fully opening up the originally compact 60-square-meter interior, it is now connected to the urban street through the colonnade, transforming into a city living room that can accommodate more young people and different types of activities.

Considering that the building where the tavern is located raised the interior floor of the first floor by nearly half a level as part of the overall renovation, aligning it with the colonnade floor, the design focuses on utilizing space downward and creating a flexible and versatile spatial layout. The original floor was partially demolished, and a sunken space with a 1.2-meter height difference from the colonnade entrance was restored in the center of the interior, featuring step-like seating.

To support the elevated floor in the remaining areas of the interior, a steel structure was installed along the four walls of the sunken space. These steel structures are designed to be easily dismantled and recycled, ensuring that even if the usage of the shop changes in the future, the steel will not end up as buried construction waste.

To conceal the steel structure, iron plates were fixed onto the steel frame using traditional rivets, forming the wainscoting and interior surface of the sunken space. All windows, doors, and cabinets inside are made from birch plywood. When people descend into the sunken space, the change in eye level causes the surrounding birch panels to appear in a floating form, creating a pleasant sense of enclosure within the space.

Starting from the brand philosophy of "Jumping into the Sea," and taking into account the site's characteristics and the behavior patterns of the young demographic, the design thoughtfully considers the sensory experiences brought by material combinations. It not only creates a sincere and welcoming overall atmosphere but also makes breakthroughs in spatial experience layers and key design elements. By guiding each visitor to interact freely with the space, products, and people in the way they find most comfortable, the creative potential of this "less is more" space is fully unleashed.
